Before it was a stunning holiday destination, Domaine de Leygue was a small Perigourdine farm.
Now the main owners house and original stone barn leads you through the central courtyard to the private guest cottages
within the trees and lawns of the private gardens.
Luc and Frédérique bring passion and love for the countryside and have their own family roots in the Perigord.

Home Comforts
Gardens
An avenue of maple trees draws you into the main courtyard of Domaine de Leygue, with its mellow stone barn to the north and owners house to the south.
The setting is over four acres of landscaped grounds amidst tranquil, beautiful dordogne countryside. Because of our high position there are marvellous uninterrupted views across the adjoining valley, fields and woods that abound with bird and wildlife including wild boar and a variety of deer. An abundance of flowering shrubs, wisteria and trees around the gardens and cottages complement the natural honeyed hues of the stonework.
There are private guest parking areas, with a separate driveway for leaving the property.
Free Wifi
Available in all the cottages and at selected spots throughout the grounds. N.B it's rural France, and we have limited bandwidth, but is adequate for general connections.
Swimming Pools
We have two swimming pools to choose from; the solar heated Pigeonnier Pool, and the Field Pool, overlooking fields and woods.
Both the Field and Pigeonnier swimming pools are serviced daily and each has a Polaris automatic cleaner and Clearwater salt treatment system to make your bathing as perfect as possible.
The 'Pigeonnier Pool' (9m x 6m) is open throughout the season and benefits from a solar heating system to take away the chill in the early and later months. With steps and a large shallow area, this pool is ideal for swimmers and non-swimmers alike.
The ‘Field Pool’ (10m x 5m) will be appreciated by more accomplished swimmers as it is longer and deeper.
Gymnasium
We have some well chosen gym equipment in the barn for the discerning keep fit fanatic who wishes to keep up with their fitness regime during their holiday. This includes a multigym, rowing machine and free weights.
Housekeeping
There is a central guests utility room near the courtyard which has washing machine and ironing facilities to serve Edward's Tower and May Cottage.
Bikes
Our bicycles will enable you to explore the nearby countryside - along quiet country roads or by the river - at a leisurely pace.
The new green activities offered
Golf
you are a golfer or want to pay a try, Luc will be happy to accompany you on the golf course of Chateau les Merles to make a course. Also in the morning you can train and play a few golf balls in the grounds of our estate.
Electric bikes
We've acquired electric bikes so that you can enjoy biking around and discover more comfortably our lovely but hilly countryside and visit more places & landscapes with less effort.
Horse riding
Frédérique, horse riding enthusiast, will be happy to take you, depending on your level, to discover horse riding at nearby riding club or take a long horseback ride in the surrounding countryside.

Markets
A visit to the Dordogne would not be complete without a morning market visit. There is a market on locally almost every day of the week somewhere, some larger than others , but all gloriously vibrant.
The Vineyards
There are an abundance of vineyards within the locality offering everything from wine tasting
to full 'appreciation' days and tours.
Marche Nocturnes
For summer evenings, food and wine for you to enjoy in gorgeous villages, hamlets and small towns; bring your own 'couvert' , buy your meal and wine from the surrounding vendors then eat, dance and enjoy until midnight.
Leisure
Cycling the glorious leafy lanes around Domaine de Leygue, river swimming near Limeuil, canoeing on the River Dordogne, golf at nine nearby courses, walking along the stunning marked country trails , or chilling on a sunbed by your cottage with two private swimming pools to choose from, and a glass of wine.....
